Resort Information
Macugnaga is a delightfully unspoilt resort in North Italy located in the Italian Alps and approximately 150 kilometres from Milan.
It is set high on the famous Monte Rosa, the second highest mountain in Europe, so breathtaking views and spectacular scenery are guaranteed.
Fabulous Views and The Perfekt Place For Skiing
Macugnaga is made up of five small villages, two of them, Staffa and Pecetto, are the main ski points for lifts with most of the nightlife centred around the main square of Staffa.
The cable car from Staffa Square takes you to the top of Monte Moro with fabulous views and skiing. You can walk or ski to Switzerland – it’s just a few hundred metres at the top.
With restaurants and bars on all the slopes it’s a great place to relax have a drink and watch the action for those not skiing.
If you take the chair lift at Pecetto you will find yourself high up on the Monte Rosa where besides great ski runs you can walk right to the edge of the stunning Monte Rosa Glacier.
Here at Monterosa Holidays, we care a great deal about the history and tradition that surrounds Macugnaga and the Monte Rosa and are committed to preserving and sharing it with our clients and friends, whilst having fun skiing and snowboarding!
